EarthCraft Multifamily Technical Advisory Services
Synergy Home Advantage specializes in EarthCraft Technical Advisory services.
As of the end of 2016, Ed Foskey had participated in the EarthCraft Certification of over 225 single family houses and over 7,000 multifamily units.
The EarthCraft program was developed in 1999 by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface Energy Institute. Here is part of the description of EarthCraft from their web site:
EarthCraft is the Southeast’s standard for green building, pairing building science with regional know-how. The result? Exquisitely designed and renovated homes, apartment complexes, buildings, and communities.
The EarthCraft program has five programs under its umbrella. These programs are:
• EarthCraft House
• EarthCraft House Renovation
• EarthCraft Multifamily
• EarthCraft Multifamily Renovation
• EarthCraft Communities
• EarthCraft Light Commercial
Each program is specialized to meet certain needs in the construction and energy efficiency communities. Synergy Home Advantage specializes in the Multifamily and Multifamily Renovation programs.
The EarthCraft Technical Advisor role is to assist the owner/developer, the general contractor, and all sub-contractors in assuring that the project meets or exceeds the standards and goals set for the project. This includes plan review, energy modeling, and a minimum of three inspections per house/apartment unit to assure that the house is in compliance with all parts of the certification process.
