This project is called The Baldwin and is located in Milledgeville, Georgia. It is located within walking distance to the Georgia College and State University campus. The Baldwin is also within walking distance for a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and local services.
This project was an adaptive reuse project that turned an old store/office building into two commercial spaces that would be ideal for a coffee shop or small store. Also, The Baldwin includes 15 apartments ranging in size from a studio apartment to three bedroom apartments (including four loft apartments on the upper floor). The targeted tenant for these apartments are students at GCSU.
These apartments were designed by Bill York, an architect with Community Development Partners, Inc. They are designed to be pretty, long lasting, comfortable, and energy efficient.
Synergy's role in this project was limited to final testing for participation in the Georgia Power Earthcents Program for multifamily properties. Synergy played no role in the earlier planning/consulting stages of this project. The inspection and test results indicated that, versus code construction, the energy savings for these units should measure as high as 30-35%!
